Outreach Services
The RI Auditory Oral Program provides support to students with hearing loss who are being educated in their home school district, or an alternative setting. Services provided include:
Direct service, as indicated in the student's IEP (Individualized Education Program)
Consultation with staff regarding the needs of the student as a child with hearing loss (instructional strategies, language development)
In-service and training for staff regarding hearing loss and its impact on language development and learning, hearing technology, classroom acoustics, and instructional and learning needs
